7.23.14

George Takei describes the moment when he and his family were sent to an internment camp.

There were camps in Canada too, fyi. But of course they won’t tell you that in your History class.

Jamie Brown - The Puppy and The Explorer

vandergoalie:

coughinebrohaus:

A song from Auntie Cosima to Kira!

Settle down, rest your head,

I’ll sing you a story

Before you go to bed

There was an explorer, who sailed the seven seas,

Traveled the world with her,

Faithful puppy

Until a scary dragon came along

Took the puppy

From the explorers arms

That was the day,

The world turned grey

For them both.

But the puppy followed the explorer,

The whole way home.

She followed her, the whole way home.

Go to sleep,

Hit the hay,

The puppies back,

And she’s here to stay.

Cause she followed the explorer,

The whole way home.

ohmygodddd this is soooo goooooood

YOU CAN TELL A LOT ABOUT SOMEONE BY THE TYPE OF MUSIC THEY LISTEN TO. HIT SHUFFLE ON YOUR IPOD, PHONE, ITUNES, MEDIA PLAYER ETC AND WRITE DOWN THE FIRST 20 SONGS. THEN PASS THIS ON TO 10 PEOPLE. ONE RULE: NO SKIPPING
God everytime I see these caps I think it’s an important PSA or a desperate fan or something like caps make me anxious so that’s why I put them in italics because that makes me feel a bit better okay moving on

I think I’ve done this before but I was tagged by vandergoalie (hiiii) so here it is (with bonus comments).

1. Sacred Heart - The Civil Wars (#feels #French songs count : 1)

2. Paradise - Coldplay (you know what’s better than Coldplay’s version of this song ? THIS ONE I cannot contain the tears it’s so beautiful)

3. Harlem’s Nocturne - Alicia Keys (life goal : to be able to play this without fucking up in the final part)

4. Formidable - Stromae (Stromae more like rip my heart out #French songs count : 2)

5. Q.U.E.E.N. - Janelle Monáe (there is absolutely no comment needed on this one)

6. Monks - Frank Ocean (one of my phone’s ringtones just because)

8. On va s’aimer encore - Vincent Vallières (the concept of being in love captured in one song #majorfeels #French songs count : 4)

9. Surrender To Hope - Immediate Music (epic instrumental music is epic)

10. Sweet Life - Frank Ocean (you’ve had a landscaper and a housekeeper since you were bornnnnnn)

11. Comme des rames - Klô Pelgag (missed her concert three weeks ago gdi #French songs count : 5)

12. Exogenesis: Symphony, Part 2 (Cross-pollination) - Muse (I remember during their concert they played a part of this symphony and nobody knew what the fuck that was. Especially not those two completely baked guys behind me doing air guitar and air drum the whole time)

13. Stay With Me - Sam Smith (#nopenopenpoenoepnope)

14. Lovefool - The Cardigans (we all know what this is about)

15. I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix) - Lykke Li (heard in Blue Is the Warmest Color)

16. Holocene - Bon Iver (I still don’t understand what this song means but no song reminds me of high school like this one)

17. Assasain - Muse (#tbt 2008 #first iPod)

18. Malade - Jenna Mason-Brase (YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT THIS SONG JUST CAME UP OUT OF 343 OTHER SONGS AND I’M SO HAPPY IT DID)

19. You Don’t Know My Name - Alicia Keys (don’t ask me to reenact the phone call in the middle of this song because I will #2003)

20. Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley (the only version of this song you’ll ever need)

Note to self : don't ask customers if they're from Toronto

  • Customer at my job : *keeps mentioning Toronto*
  • Me : Are you from Toronto?
  • Customer : No, actually I'm from Ottawa. I was in Toronto last week, though.
  • Me : Oh, nice! I was there last month.
  • Customer : Really? What did you do there?
  • Me : I went to World Pride. Just visiting.
  • Customer : Oh. Wanna know why you would never see me at World Pride?
  • Me : *internally cringing*
  • Customer : I respect the idea of pride, but I raised my sons by myself because after three years of marriage, my husband said "I'm gay" and left. Also I don't like the whole "celebration", "festive" side of it.
  • Me : *wearing a Clone Club shirt and a very obvious rainbow bracelet* ... ha
